Excursiones Home Perito Moreno Glacier It is considered the eighth wonder of the world and the most known
and imposing of glaciers of this Nacional Park.It is located in front
of the Peninsula of Magallanes, 78 km far away from Calafate.This
glacier shows a surprising and peculiar phenomenon, in which its great
mass of ice advances continuously, causing the accumulation, rupture
and loosening of very big ice blocks..
Caves of Walichu
They are 8 kilometres far away from Calafate and an important
archaeological place, where the first cave paintings of the province
were discovered. In addition to their archaeological value, the caves
are next to the borders of Lago Argentino and surprise by the beauty
of the landscape.
These paintings were made by tehuelches towns. Its name comes from
Walichu, which is the name of a deity tehuelche.
The original paintings have approximated an antiquity of 4000 years
and were discovered by Francisco Perito Moreno in 1877..
